      • Self-help group

The self help groups are made up of members of the local community that run small business. After paying a membership fee, the group uses the collective fund to financially support themselves in the development of their businesses.

..................'s story; ........ has her own dessert business in a village just outside of Poipet. She is currently a member of a self-help group founded by CHO. The group consists of 11 members, many of them being local farmers but also another stall owner. Each month they all put in a a small 'membership fee'. Members can assess the fund like a small loan. This means that members can work to improve their businesses, whilst also avoiding getting into debt.
