CHO currently runs three projects through the HIV/AIDS program. The primary objective is to promote enhanced primary health care and HIV/AIDS care through training, mixed media presentations and liaising with local authorities, church leaders and other organizations. CHO supports World Aids Day by organizing awareness marches through different towns within the Malai and O'Chrouv districts.
Primary health care
Objectives:
1. To provide basic primary healthcare education to all CHO beneficiaries (Sam Pou Loon, Phnom Pruk, Gom Reung districts in Battambang province and Malai district in Banteay Meanchey province.)
Every year, Cambodians who are uneducated in primary healthcare basics spend large amounts of money on unnecessary medication prescribed to them by clinics and medical practitioners who are well aware of their ignorance. CHO believes that educating communities in basic healthcare principles and first aid training, will reduce excessive medical spending and will better equip people to avoid illness in the first place.
